Fire Station Field Trip

Okay, I will fully admit, I don't know who was more excited about the Fire Station field trip -- Toby or me. I admit it -- I was pretty stoked. Plus, I have so many great memories of Ellie and I doing this kind of stuff pre-Toby.... that when I have a chance to sneak away with my little boy.... it's sorta special.
Anyways, the field trip was through his school and he was thrilled! He sat very well through the talk at the beginning (no matches + stop/drop/roll bit) that when we went to the garage he was alllll smiles! As you can see in the picture below.

Here he is pointing out to his teacher the flashlights and walkie-talkies they have. Awesome! Two of our most favorite items. Throw in a screwdriver and a tape measure and you have this boys favorite things all in one place!
Then.... drum roll... the firemen got a _real_ call! Like, 911 call. So we quickly scooted to the side, watched them suit up (in 30-60 seconds, no more) and put on their lights and sirens and off they went! I have never seen so many toddler (and mommy) jaws drop. Those men can MOVE at the drop of a hat!

Left behind were a bunch of wiggly awestruck toddlers and one quiet fireman. He was kind enough to give us a tour of the "leftover" fire engine -- the Search and Rescue truck. Talk about tools! The rest of the pictures are from that truck.

Toby's class..... minus about half of them. Can you say flu season?

At the top! Waaaay top! Like, bonk you head on the huge ceiling.... and sorta fun. Toby was not thrilled until I convinced him this was fun. Mommy-persuation can go pretty far... Check out the smile below...

  1. Just showed shawn this post...he couldn't get over how much T looks like M!!! His words, "I've always liked Mike. He's a good guy." So with that said, we're looking forward to our move north and your move east - where the two families shall hopefully join for dinner and a show. Dinner being whatever and the show being 5 kids playing together. Sound like a plan?
